New Options in Neck Rejuvenation
In the past couple years, several new exciting options have become available. Each of these advances in cosmetic surgery can provide beautiful, natural results, sometimes without an incision. These options are excellent for patients who want to enhance their appearance without committing to a more traditional surgery.
- Kybella – a natural enzyme that destroys fat cells and is given by several injections, often requiring more than one treatment session for optimal results. The benefit is that incisions are not necessary.
- FaceTite with or without liposuction – this is a new technology that utilizes bipolar radiofrequency for very efficient superheating of the skin and collagen fibers. This in turn causes them to condense and “shrink,” resulting in skin contraction. The internal probe for this device is about the same as an 18 gauge needle, so it doesn’t require a big incision at all. Often, this is combined with liposuction to optimize the effect after fat has been directly removed.

Neck Lift Recovery
Probably the most asked question or feared is, will there be a lot of pain. Dr. Linville works diligently to help minimize pain and discomfort with the use of anesthetics and intraoperative long-acting medications.
Most patients do not experience sharp pain after surgery, but rather a slight discomfort. Swelling is typical afterward. But, it generally resolves after two weeks. Final results are usually not completely evident until after 3-6 months. During the initial healing period, it is vital to give your body time to rest and recover.
Sutures are removed at about one week after surgery. And bruising, if any, is usually resolved after a couple of weeks. The incisions are well hidden behind the ear, and Dr. Linville will keep a close eye on your incisions to ensure proper healing. Throughout the recovery process, Dr. Linville is available for checkups to make sure you are healing well.
